The Infinity Dreams Award and Blogger Recognition Award

Okay guys and girls, I have been nominated for two separate awards in a very very short space of time.  I hope you don’t mind, but I have done one post today accepting both awards, separately .

Firstly, to Peter from PetersFoodAdventures (as his nomination came through first). Thank you ! You have no idea what this Award means to me.  Peter’s blog is amazing, with a Russian and multi cultural influence.  I find his recipes unique and really mouth-watering.  If you have not been over to visit Peter’s blog I strongly suggest you do. My Questions From Peter:

What inspired you to start a blog?  I have always wanted to write, and I guess I just wanted to start somewhere.  I have always loved cooking and baking, so after reading a ton of cooking blogs, thought, well this is something I could do.  It keeps me busy an keeps my brain active.

A new recipe you would like to make that you’ve never tried before? Off the top of my head….I am stumped !  Maybe something with fish…

Favorite travel destination? I haven’t travelled, but would fancy going to some exotic place… I have seen pic’s of Bora Bora, now that looks like an awesome place OMW !!!

A great weekend would include?  Just some quiet time, relaxed, perhaps a book or magazine, out by my pool. 🙂

Favorite meal to cook for family and friends?  Oh I don’t know if I have a favorite…I just enjoy cooking 🙂 . Thinking about it now, a good old roast with loads of yummy veggies 🙂  and cheese sauce, of course. 🙂

Favorite movie or book?  That is quite hard really….some thought is needed here 🙂

Something you enjoy about each season?

Spring:  The warmth of the sun.  I enjoy the new life of plants and flowers blooming.  It is very comforting to the soul.

Summer:  Sun tanning, enjoying the pool. There is something about Summer that makes me feel healthy, maybe it’s the vitamin D 🙂 .

Autum:  The warmth of the sun with the cool breeze in the air.

Winter:  It never really gets very cold here, but it is nice to put on some winter clothes…and boots….I love boots !

If you had free airline tickets, where would you travel?  I would go to America in a heartbeat to visit my brother and his amazing family.

Name a favorite dessert?  This is really hard for me…maybe my Chocolate Swiss Roll with Praline and Cream 🙂 ….and I just have to give you another one….My Chocolate Mousse and Cream 🙂  Yum…..

Favorite cooking/baking gadget?  I have a couple 🙂 but I will say my Gefu Spice Infuser, which I use mainly for when I make my curry.

My Questions to my Nominees:

Okay, I hope you don’t mind, but I am going to ask the identical questions I asked my nominees for the Liebster Award.  I have nominated different nominees for this award, so it should be fine 🙂

1. If there was one aspect in your life that your could change, what would that be?

2. What is one piece of advise you would give to your children as they grow up?

 3. Is there anything adventurous you would like to do in life, if so, what is it?

 4. Sweet or Savoury?

 5. What surroundings do you prefer when writing, reading or studying?

 6. If money were no object, where would your next holiday destination be and why?

 7. Each zodiac sign portrays certain characteristics for people.  What is your star sign and do you feel your star sign captures the real you?

 8. Do you have any pets? If so, what are they and what are their names?

 9. What is one thing that annoys you?

10. Fiction or non-fiction?

Now, for my second award, The Blogger Recognition Award:

I am so honoured and delighted that Claire from Paintbox Mum, has nominated me for this Award. Just knowing that Claire appreciates my blog, means so much to me. Claire, is probably the most creative friend I know. Her love, dedication and patience with her kids is just out of this world 🙂 .  I have such respect for her and I would love for you to visit her blog.

Rules for the Blogger Recognition Award:

Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.

Write a post to show your award.  Attach the award to the post.

Give a brief story of how your blog started.

Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers.

Select up to 10 other blogs you award to.

How I started my blog:

Several years ago, I left work to be a stay at home mom, and to be honest, there was only so much housework, gardening and gym that I could do in a day.  I needed something else. So I started reading all sorts of blogs, then got onto food blogs (as I love food), started following loads of food blogs and came to realise that…I could do this too.  So, basically that is how it all started.

My advise to new bloggers:

Never give up !  Keep going.  perseverance is key !!!

My Nominees for the Blogger Recognition Award are:

Orla ’bout the bake

Creatively Courtney

Once again, thanks to Claire and Peter for the nominations 🙂 .

Yay !  It’s Friday !!!

Happy Friday 🙂

  2. You’ve never ridden a horse? Is it just because you’ve never had a chance, or because you don’t want to?

(I saw that little fact and it just struck me – and now I am thinking that there are probably many people who have never ridden a horse, for whatever reason.)

  3. Well done, Lynne. You really deserve these awards – your blog is great and you’re a very interactive blogger. It’s a good idea to do two awards in one post. I’ve done it a few times when I’ve been pushed for time. These two asked for quite different things, but at least, the second one wasn’t so long. I noticed you just had to get in a mention of cheese. Lol. Even if it was only in a sauce! I love the summer, too – when we manage to get any here! 🙂

    • Thanks Deb 🙂 I know the word ‘hate’ is quite strong, in fact really very strong…I don’t know really, it kind of just goes through me, that cold wind… blows my hair all over the place…. I just find it unpleasant….Yeah, I am a weird one, but that is me 🙂

  8. Wow! I happened to fall upon a superstar! I loved the Q and A and especially your responses. It is so nice to see people get recognized and to share their experiences with everyone else. Kudos to you.

  9. Oh Lynne, it was so nice learning more about you through this blog award! Congratulations on the nomination and it’s so deserved. I didn’t know that you had family in America. Whereabouts, if you don’t my asking? And you’re a June baby! A Gemini, perhaps? Thanks also for nominating me, mon amie! I look forward to participating soon! Sorry again for seeing this late. I certainly fell behind in my blog life leading up to the trip. 🙂 xo

    • Thanks very much Anita 🙂 . Yes, I have a brother living in Connecticut with his wife and three children. He has been there now for 14 years ! I miss him terribly. We speak every week, but still really miss him. I am a June baby, (6th June – Gemini) 🙂 .
Oh, my absolute pleasure for nominating you, you are so welcome. Please don’t worry about seeing this late, I fully understand. Haha, I too, am very behind in the blog life, so don’t stress. I was trying desperately to catch up this weekend with all the blog reading!!! Have a lovely week. xxx

      • Wow, that’s so interesting. DO you get to visit him or vice versa? I know how hard it can be to live far from family. All my parents relatives live in India, and my husband has lived in Canada for the last ten years, but as you know, his family lives in the UK, so it’s quite hard at times. I feel like social media and video chats help a lot! Are you on WhatsApp? I just got into it while in London and found it to be really useful for keeping in touch with my family. It makes total sense that you are a Gemini! Some of the best people in my life are the same sign, so no surprise there. 🙂 I will get to the challenge within the next couple of weeks and thanks again! xo

      • Sadly, I have not been over to visit yet, but am planning on going within the next couple years. He has visited, but now having the three kids in school it is difficult with the school holidays not coinciding for when he has a shut-down period over winter with his work, so it’s difficult. I agree, social media does help, but it really is not the same having them home permanently 🙂 . Yes, I am on Whatsapp, but then there is that massive time difference 😦 .
Really? Thanks for that, that is a lovely compliment. I find often Gemini people are frowned upon. They are suppose to have split personalities, moody and blah blah blah. But I am me 🙂 and I really don’t see any of that in me, apart from being normal hahaha (to a degree) . No rush my friend, you will get to it, when you get to it 🙂 xxx

      • Hi Lynne! Oh that is tough, I’m sorry to hear about the distance. And I totally know what you mean about the huge time difference, it really gets in the way of real-time communication. I hope you get to visit him soon!! And Connecticut is close to NYC, so you could have lots of fun there too. 🙂 I love Geminis! I don’t believe any of those negative things, in my experience, Geminis are loyal and very deep. I hope you’re enjoying your day! xo

  10. You are so sweet, thank you. I agree, we are loyal and very deep people 🙂 My brother is a Gemini too, he is the 9th (yes my parent’s planned that well haha) and he too is loyal, very deep, has a heart of gold and I could go on and on…. It is very hot here today, enjoy the rest of your day. xxx
